ALEXANDRA SAVIOR CRYING ALL THE TIME

The dreamy, americana-laced track ‘Crying All The Time’ is the only reason you need to put Alexandra Savior on your radar, or perhaps back on your radar… It’s been two years of mysterious silence from this Oregon artist following her debut album, Belladonna of Sadness, which was co-written with none other than Alex Turner. The now 22-year-old has since been picked up by Danger Mouse’s record label, 30th Century Records, who will be releasing her upcoming record towards the end of the year. Our first bittersweet taste of the album is a lustrous mix of Portland indie-pop, psychedelic guitars, hazy production and beautiful vocals, rich in melancholia. She strikes us as mix between Grace Lightman and Lana Del Rey, and really, what else could you want? Speaking about this hypnotic new single, Savior says: "I wrote "Crying All The Time" on New Year’s Day 2018, I had moved back home to Portland after a rough relationship. After being dropped from my previous record label I started attending community college and about two weeks in 30th Century reached out and offered for me to go to NYC and have a new record produced by Sam Cohen. We spent about 3 weeks recording The Archer in his studio in Dumbo, Brooklyn, it felt very natural to work with Sam because he is an incredibly kind man, and incredibly talented musician and producer." Without further, be prepared to have yourself swept up into the aural sadness of ‘Crying All The Time’, accompanied by a music video directed by Joseph Bird. - Hannah Thacker
